Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Agreement to These Terms
By accessing or using Daedelus and any of its apps (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Daedelus is operated by its founding team ("we," "us," "our"). These terms apply to all users of the platform.
Description of Service
Daedelus is a suite of AI-assisted tools designed to automate and simplify everyday digital tasks. Current apps include:
- Kairos: converts images and screenshots into calendar events using AI-powered extraction. Events can be exported as a standard .ics file (compatible with any calendar app) or published directly to Google Calendar if you have connected your account. Supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, and HEIC image formats.
- Hermes: scans your Gmail inbox for emails containing unsubscribe links and groups them by sender, allowing you to open a sender's unsubscribe page in one click. Hermes reads only email headers (sender, subject, date, and the
List-Unsubscribeheader), it does not read email body content. Requires optionally connecting your Gmail account from the Account page. Scan results are stored for up to 7 days.
Additional apps will be added over time. Each app operates under its own specific scope of functionality as described within the platform and in our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Daedelus you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Accounts & Authentication
Access to Daedelus requires creating an account via Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0). When you sign up, we create a user record in our database containing your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google. We do not store passwords.
Sign-in and calendar access are two separate, independent permission grants:
- Sign-in requires only basic identity permissions (
openid, email, profile). This is the only permission required to use the platform. - Calendar connection is optional and granted separately from your Account page. It allows Kairos to publish events directly to Google Calendar. You can connect or disconnect at any time without affecting your account.
- Gmail connection is optional and granted separately from your Account page. It allows Hermes to read email metadata (headers only) for subscription scanning. You can connect or disconnect at any time without affecting your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or submit images containing illegal content, content that violates third-party rights, or content that is deliberately misleading or harmful.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's APIs, including automated or bulk submission of requests beyond normal personal use.
- Circumvent authentication, access controls, or rate limits.
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation.
Third-Party Services
Daedelus integrates with the following third-party services to deliver its functionality. Your use of the Service is also subject to each provider's own terms and policies:
We use Google OAuth for authentication. Your use of Google's identity service is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Sign-in requests only basic identity permissions and does not grant access to any Google services beyond your profile.
If you optionally connect Google Calendar from your Account page, we additionally use the Google Calendar API and the Google Places API (for location suggestions in Kairos). Calendar access tokens are stored in our database and used solely to create events you explicitly request. We access only the permissions you explicitly grant and do not read or store your existing calendar data.
If you optionally connect Gmail from your Account page, we use the Gmail API with the gmail.metadata scope to read email headers only. This scope does not permit reading email body content or attachments, and we do not attempt to do so. Gmail access tokens are stored in our database and used solely to perform inbox scans when you request them.
Anthropic (Claude)
Certain features, including image analysis in Kairos, use Anthropic's Claude API. Content you submit for AI processing (such as images) is transmitted to Anthropic and is subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service. As noted in our Privacy Policy, we currently use a standard (non-enterprise) API plan, which means submitted content may be used by Anthropic for model improvement. Do not submit sensitive or personally identifiable information through AI-powered features.
OpenAI
We may integrate OpenAI's services for future features. These terms will be updated before any such integration is active.
Intellectual Property
The Daedelus name, logo, platform design, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.
You retain all rights to content you upload or create using the Service. By submitting content (such as images to Kairos), you grant us a limited, temporary license to process that content solely for the purpose of delivering the requested feature. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not retain it after processing is complete.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-extracted data (such as event details parsed from an image) will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output before acting on it, for example, verifying event details in Kairos before exporting a calendar event.
AI systems can and do make mistakes. Daedelus is a productivity aid, not a substitute for your own judgment.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Daedelus and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to:
- Incorrect or missing calendar events created via Kairos.
- Unsubscribe actions not being honored by the sender after you open their unsubscribe link via Hermes. Daedelus opens the sender's page but has no control over the sender's unsubscribe process or outcome.
- Loss of calendar or Gmail connection tokens or inability to perform API operations due to third-party failures or token expiry.
- Data loss resulting from third-party API failures.
- Any actions taken by Anthropic, Google, or other third parties with data you submitted through the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free-tier users, is zero).
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You can disconnect Google Calendar or Gmail from your Account page, which immediately deletes the corresponding stored tokens. You can also revoke Daedelus's access to your Google account at any time via your Google account permissions.
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at andrew@daedelus.ai.
We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms, or if we discontinue the Service. We will endeavor to provide reasonable notice of any planned discontinuation.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from your use of the Service shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the jurisdiction in which we operate.
